Description
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring their scalability, security, and reliability. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to innovative cloud computing projects.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, S3, and VPCs.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using tools like Amazon CloudWatch and GuardDuty.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and updates through Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
Configure and manage containerized applications using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including workload scaling and cluster optimization.
Implement robust security measures, including IAM policies, security groups, and encryption protocols.
Optimize cloud resource usage and costs by leveraging AWS Cost Explorer and implementing savings plans.
Develop and manage disaster recovery solutions, including backups and cross-region replication.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, and system performance.
Maintain accurate documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Manage networking components such as subnets, route tables, load balancers, and DNS settings using Route 53.
Requirements
Extensive experience managing and deploying AWS-based infrastructure.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform, with expertise in module development and state management.
Strong knowledge of AWS core services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and Elastic Load Balancing.
Expertise in configuring and enforcing security controls using IAM, GuardDuty, and AWS Organizations.
Familiarity with monitoring and governance tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.
Experience managing containerized workloads with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of networking concepts within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, and Transit Gateway.
Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation using AWS Backup.
