Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL development for large databases, performance tuning, and enterprise delivery within agile environments, and a proven ability to design and implement scalable database solutions, mentor peers, and collaborate with front-end teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL in Oracle 19c/21c.
- Implement database utilities and solutions for large-scale Oracle databases.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of SQL and PL/SQL code.
- Partner with front-end developers to integrate data services and support application delivery.
- Define and maintain reusable development standards and best practices.
- Design solution approaches for enterprise systems and review implementation for quality and scalability.
- Provide code reviews and mentoring across multiple agile teams.
- Contribute to CI/CD migration and tooling adoption, including Horizon, Bitbucket, and Artifactory.
- Analyze existing codebases and infrastructure to understand current state before proposing or implementing changes.
- Refine and execute JIRA stories, translating requirements into technical designs and deliverables.
- Engage in collaborative brainstorming and contribute ideas aligned with emerging technology trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7 to 15 years of experience in database development, with 7+ years in Oracle PL/SQL.
- Expertise in Oracle packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and analytic functions.
- Proven track record implementing and supporting large Oracle databases.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL code.
- Experience developing database utilities and reusable components.
- Experience collaborating with front-end development teams on enterprise deliveries, preferably within financial services.
- Agile delivery experience, including JIRA story grooming and execution.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with object databases and other relational databases in addition to Oracle.
- Background in CI/CD pipelines and SDM platforms such as Horizon, Bitbucket, and Artifactory.
- Ability to read code in multiple languages and assess infrastructure states.
