Role: MongoDB Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 9+ Month Contract
Senior developer responsible for building and maintaining the MongoDB-based network data platform that serves as the authoritative data backbone for the automation framework. The role focuses on data modelling, ingestion, validation, and platform performance in support of network lifecycle management, and includes running the platform on a container environment. This is a senior role: the successful candidate will work independently, own data-modelling decisions, and help set good engineering practice across the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and implement MongoDB data models (schemas, collections, indexing strategies) for network lifecycle entities.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines (batch and streaming) and validation logic to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Implement data versioning, audit trails, and governance controls.
• Develop query, search, and analytics capabilities on top of the data platform.
• Optimize database performance, sharding, and scalability.
• Deploy, run, and troubleshoot the data platform on OpenShift/Kubernetes, including containerizing services and managing configuration.
• Collaborate with the API and workflow teams to expose data through the platform interfaces.
• Support integration with the broader automation environment and align data models to applicable product compliance requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including significant hands-on work with MongoDB in production environments.
• Strong MongoDB skills: data modelling, aggregation framework, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, Node.js, or Java).
• Experience building data ingestion / ETL pipelines and data validation.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes (containerization, Helm/operators, config and resource management).
•Understanding of data governance concepts (versioning, audit, access control).
• Ability to work autonomously and mentor less experienced engineers.
DESIRABLE (NOT MANDATORY)
• Knowledge of TM Forum standards, particularly Open API and data-model conventions.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to automation or data processing.
• Telecom / OSS-BSS domain exposure.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka, AsyncAPI).
