Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Jira Engineer to support engineering and program management teams by designing, building, and maintaining Jira-based dashboards, filters, and reporting solutions. This role plays a critical part in enabling visibility into vehicle program execution, milestone tracking, and overall program health.

The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between engineering teams and data systems, ensuring reporting accuracy, usability, and standardization across programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Jira dashboards and filters for engineering and program tracking

• Write, optimize, and manage advanced JQL (Jira Query Language) queries

• Build both high-level executive dashboards and detailed engineering-level reporting views

• Collaborate with Program Management Engineers and Engineering Leads to align reporting with GPDS milestones and deliverables

• Provide hands-on Jira support to engineering teams, including troubleshooting and issue resolution

• Train and guide users on Jira best practices, reporting capabilities, and efficient usage

• Standardize Jira workflows, fields, and reporting structures across multiple programs

• Evaluate and support Atlassian tools and integrations (e.g., Confluence, reporting plugins)

• Continuously improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and usability within Jira environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Jira in an engineering or technical environment

• Strong expertise in Jira dashboards, filters, and reporting tools

• Advanced proficiency in JQL (Jira Query Language)

• Working knowledge of the Atlassian ecosystem (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

• Proven ability to design both executive-level and detailed operational dashboards

• Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support technical users

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting automotive or hardware engineering programs

• Familiarity with GPDS or similar product development frameworks

• Experience with Jira plugins, reporting tools, or integrations

• Background in data visualization or analytics
