What is the opportunity? Respond with Compassionate Action We are seeking a
Cloud Site Reliability Engineer to join our
Information Technology team working
remotely (or at another approved on-site location). Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of
Cloud Site Reliability Engineer,you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Build, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable private cloud infrastructure and platform services that support reliable deployment and operation of ministry-critical workloads.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and application delivery using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, AI tools, and modern engineering practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and participate in incident response and on-call support, including root-cause analysis and long-term remediation.
- Develop and maintain internal tools, technical documentation, and standardized practices that improve team productivity, system maintainability, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to evaluate emerging technologies, optimize cloud resource utilization and costs, and continuously improve platform resilience and operational effectiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or university program certificate in a related field and five (5) to seven (7) years of Cloud Engineering experience; or seven (7)+ years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven SRE or DevOps experience focused on reliability, automation, and production operations, including extensive experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, or Dynatrace.
- Strong hands-on experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux, self-hosted Git platforms, production Kubernetes environments, Linux administration and troubleshooting, and open-source/on-premise infrastructure; OpenStack experience is a plus.
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
