TEKsystems is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a six month plus remote consulting opportunity. The consultant must be able to work and support west Pacific Time zone hours.
Top Skills
Kubernetes - end to end (bringing up the clusters both on prem and in the cloud, onboarding the services, setting up monitoring and telemetry to monitor the services). If candidates only have cloud Kubernetes experience they are not a fit for this role.
Terraform
Golang or Python
In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (performance, troubleshooting, internals) and core networking concepts (L3/L4, DNS, load balancing, VPC networking).
Description
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes:
Automating cluster lifecycle (provisioning, upgrades, scaling).
Designing and implementing CI/CD-driven application deployments.
Working with Helm, Kustomize, or similar tooling.
Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, Go, Bash, with a demonstrated ability to build tooling, services, and automation.
Experience with at least one workload manager (Slurm preferred) or job scheduling system in a production environment.
In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (performance, troubleshooting, internals) and core networking concepts (L3/L4, DNS, load balancing, VPC networking).
Interest in crafting, analyzing, and fixing large-scale distributed systems.
Systematic problem-solving approach, with strong communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and drive.
Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine operational tasks.
BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving software development.
8+ years of industry experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure/Platform Engineering roles.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
