Java/AWS Developer

Senior Java Developer/Cloud Architect

<>Location: Remote<>Type of Employment: Contract<>Rate: $65-$70 per hour (W-2 only)<>Candidates must be able to qualify for a Public Trust 

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of recent Java development experience in an AWS environment
• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field.

Qualifications for an ideal candidate

Possess a combination of the following:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience designing and building cloud applications. AWS environment is preferred
• 5+ years of recent experience developing REST APIs and a solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• At least 5 years’ experience with developing REST APIs using Java frameworks (Spring or Spring Boot) and Java 11 or Java 17.
• Experience in implementing persistence with spring boot JPA and Hibernate
• Extensive experience using AI models to develop and test code
• Knowledge and experience working with traditional or document databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases.
• Advanced knowledge of software design and programming principles.
• Advanced knowledge of Java memory management and modern Java features.
• 5+ years’ experience working in an AWS cloud environment and an advanced understanding of cloud technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes, Cloud databases, CI/CD, serverless computing etc.
• 5+ years’ experience working with version control tools (GIT, Bitbucket)
• Experience working on synchronous and asynchronous architecture.
• Demonstrated experience working with the following: HTML5, JSON, XML
• Knowledge of security concepts such as Zero trust architecture, Secrets Management, Spring Security, Tokens/Oauth, framework configuration and common vulnerabilities
• Experience with IaC , Containerization (EKS) and other DevOps concepts
• Experience with Automated API testing using tools such as JBehave, cucumber, or Selenium.
• Able to work and collaborate remotely, be self-directed, work independently and communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

Compensation

Salary Range: $65-$70 per hour.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, technical skills, education, certifications, and overall qualifications.
