We are seeking a
Senior Java AI Developer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native, event-driven applications while driving adoption of AI-assisted software development practices. This role combines deep Java engineering expertise with modern cloud, messaging, and Generative AI capabilities to support critical business platforms and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modernize Java-based applications using Spring Boot, Kafka, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Build scalable, resilient, and observable cloud-native solutions on platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or PCF.
- Partner with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Leverage GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini, etc.) to accelerate development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and modernization efforts.
- Establish and promote AI-assisted engineering best practices, including prompt engineering and validation standards.
- Drive code quality, performance, resiliency, observability, and production readiness.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across development initiatives.
- Support transformation efforts from legacy platforms to distributed, event-driven architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with Java and enterprise application development.
- Strong expertise in:
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Kafka
- REST APIs
- Microservices
- Event-Driven Architectures
- Experience designing scalable, high-availability distributed systems.
- 6+ years of cloud-native development experience using Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with messaging platforms, observability tools (e.g., Splunk), and production support.
- Database experience with relational and NoSQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or Aerospike.
- Experience leading technical delivery, solution design, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools across the SDLC.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related technical field.
- Experience with Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Reactive Programming, API Gateways, or Service Mesh technologies.
- Experience with TDD, BDD, QA automation, and quality engineering practices.
- Background in performance engineering, resiliency testing, and large-scale platform modernization.
- Familiarity with AI technologies such as LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and agent-based workflows.
- Financial services or broker-dealer industry experience.
