Network engineer- Ilinois Location -Only W2

Job Description: 
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, and network security.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls

• Monitor network performance and ensure high availability

• Manage network security including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs

• Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis

• Implement network upgrades, patches, and capacity planning

• Work with cross-functional teams for infrastructure and application support

• Maintain network documentation and diagrams

• Support on-call and incident response as required

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs

• Hands-on experience with Cisco (routers, switches, ASA/Firepower)

• Experience with routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

• Experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco)

• Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL)

• Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG)

• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• CCNA / CCNP / CCIE certification

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

• SD-WAN experience

• Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash)

Nice to Have:

• Load balancers (F5, Netscaler)

• Wireless technologies (802.11, WLC)

• ITIL process exposure
