Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP SD/MM Functional Consultant with strong hands-on configuration expertise and extensive experience supporting SAP S/4HANA environments. The ideal candidate will possess a balanced background across both Sales & Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM), along with proven experience in business-facing functional consulting, requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, testing, and solution design.
This is a hands-on functional role supporting multiple concurrent business initiatives rather than a large-scale implementation project. The consultant must be comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and engaging directly with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional activities across SAP SD and MM modules, including configuration, testing, and solution design.
- Conduct business workshops, requirements gathering sessions, blueprinting, and fit-gap analysis.
- Support analytics and reporting initiatives by translating business requirements into functional specifications.
- Create and maintain detailed functional specifications for SAP enhancements, integrations, and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate closely with business users to evaluate requirements and recommend effective solutions.
- Work independently to manage multiple small projects and enhancement requests simultaneously.
- Troubleshoot functional issues and coordinate with technical teams when required.
- Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities.
- Engage directly with US-based stakeholders and provide ongoing functional guidance.

SAP Functional Expertise
SAP SD (Sales & Distribution)
- Strong hands-on configuration experience within Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes.
- Experience with:
- Sales Order Processing
- Delivery Processing
- Intercompany Invoicing
- Billing Processes
- Pricing configuration knowledge is a plus.
SAP MM (Materials Management)
- Hands-on configuration experience in procurement processes.
- Expertise in:
- Purchase Requisitions (PR)
- Purchase Orders (PO)
- Source Lists
- Info Records
- Procurement and Purchasing Functions
- Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement workflows.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Deep understanding of SD-MM integration points, including:
- Stock Transport Processes
- Intercompany Transactions
- Master Data Dependencies
- Delivery and Billing Integration with Procurement
- Ability to analyze cross-functional impacts and communicate solutions effectively to business users.
SAP S/4HANA
- Hands-on SAP S/4HANA implementation and support experience.
- Understanding of:
- SAP Fiori Applications
- S/4HANA Data Model Changes
- SD/MM innovations and best practices within S/4HANA.
Analytics & Reporting
- Experience supporting SAP-based analytics and reporting projects.
- Ability to:
- Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Develop functional specifications for analytics solutions.
- Oversee analytics development and validate delivered solutions.
- Development experience is not required.
Integration Experience
- Experience working with:
- EDI Integrations
- B2B Integrations
- Third-Party System Interfaces
- Ability to create functional specifications and review interface mapping documentation.
Additional Skills
- Working knowledge of SAP CRM.
- Experience with CRM-to-SD integration and middleware processes is a plus.
Experience Requirements
- 10 15 years of combined SAP SD and MM experience.
- Strong functional expertise across both modules (candidates with only SD or only MM experience will not be considered).
- Proven hands-on configuration experience.
- Minimum 5 7 years of recent US-based project experience.
- Experience supporting multiple small projects simultaneously.
- Strong business-facing consulting experience.
- Manufacturing or High-Tech industry experience preferred.
- Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.
- Retail industry experience is acceptable but less preferred.
