RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Applications) in Charlotte, NC. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you embed with a business team, learn how it works, and ship an AI-powered application that the team uses in production.
What you build:
* Full-stack applications on our stack
* Engineer the context that an LLM reasons over to generate insights and reports
* Agentic workflows that improve business processes: agents handle multi-step work such as gathering data, drafting outputs and routing for approval, and people review the decisions that matter
How you build:
* With coding agents: Claude Code and Codex are your primary build tools
* With guardrails: You enforce quality through automated tests, test coverage and our existing quality gates
* With the business, every day: You refine, build and demo with users daily
REQUIREMENTS:
* Master's degree in Computer Science from a top-100 US program, as ranked by
* 6+ years of professional software engineering on production applications
* Production experience in Java/Spring Boot or .NET (C#)
* Production experience in TypeScript with Angular or NestJS
* CSRankings
* Designing and building REST APIs, and delivering cloud-native applications (containers, CI/CD, observability)
* Uses Claude Code or Codex or other coding harnesses daily to build production software
* Has led requirements sessions and demos directly with business stakeholders
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Should be able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical business leaders, both in person and in writing
* Experience working in an Agile team, especially short build; Demo; Feedback cycles with business users
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
