Take on a crucial role where you'll be a key part of a high-performing team delivering secure software solutions.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls team in Corporate Technology, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and advanced technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code, and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Lead resiliency design reviews, deconstruct complex problems into actionable work for other engineers, and act as the main point of contact during major incidents.
  • Lead initiatives to improve reliability, stability, and performance of applications and platforms using data-driven analytics to enhance service levels.
  • Drive collaboration to identify comprehensive service level indicators, establish service level objectives and error budgets with stakeholders and customers.
  • Offer high-level technical expertise within one or more technical domains, proactively identifying and solving technology-related bottlenecks.
  • Document and share knowledge within the organization via internal forums and communities of practice, driving awareness and adoption of new technologies.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years' applied experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and site reliability best practices.
  • Advanced hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Fluent in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java/Spring Boot,).
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with emerging depth in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, distributed systems).
  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficient with observability tools and service level objective alerting.
  • Proficient with container and orchestration technologies (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience troubleshooting networking technologies and issues.
  • Practical cloud native experience.
  • Actively self-educates, evaluates new technology, and recommends suitable solutions.
