Job Details

Lead and manage water, wastewater, and land development projects from initial planning through final design and permitting for municipal, private, and industrial clients at the local, national, and international level.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communication, expectations, and long-term relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans in collaboration with internal engineering teams.

Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of high-quality design packages.

Perform and oversee the design of water and wastewater systems, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment components, and related infrastructure.

Lead site development design efforts, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, and utility layouts.

Review and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications, providing PE-level oversight and QA/QC.

Guide projects through local, state, and federal permitting processes, coordinating directly with regulatory agencies as needed.

Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and scope changes, to ensure projects remain aligned with client expectations.

Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and supporting professional development.

Support business development initiatives through proposal development, scope definition, and technical input.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or closely related field).

3-10 years of hands-on civil engineering design experience, preferably in water/wastewater or land development.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or strong preference for candidates with PE; EIT must be actively pursuing licensure if considered).

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Experience producing construction documents and performing engineering calculations.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with municipal water/wastewater infrastructure and site development projects.

Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting and regulatory processes.

Experience working on public-sector projects or within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
