The Index Product Intelligence team is responsible for supporting various stakeholders in the broader index business in creation of new financial products and help drive overall growth in assets of Nasdaq index tracking products. As a member of the Nasdaq Index Product Intelligence team, will be responsible for providing market intelligence about ETF and MF industry to various members of the Index business: product development, sales, research and marketing teams.
The Quantitative Research Analyst will be a part of the Index Product Intelligence team based in Philadelphia supporting the product development, sales, research and marketing team in the index business.
Primary Responsibilities: - Interested in and passion for index tracking investment vehicles, particularly in exchange traded funds (ETFs) and Mutual Funds (MFs).
- Assist PI team develop research into the current ETF market environment by providing insights into the current market state by analyzing industry data on a regular basis.
- Support business unit strategy and provide additional external content to help our clients and position Nasdaq Index as a thought leader in the ETF space.
- Prepare and present standard and customized research reports including comparative market commentary, cashflow and product performance analyses, and other reports.
- Prior experience within the asset management industry or analytical role in financial services is preferrable.
The Level of Experience We Expect: - Commensurate experience (1-2 years) and degree qualified in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or related subject area.
- BSc/MSc in a Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
The Technical Skills We Expect: - Proficient in Python/R/SQL and prior experience working in Databricks.
- Proficient in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong writing and analytical skills with sharp attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
The non-Technical Skills We Expect: - Ability to listening to internal stakeholders, understand their objectives, and providing thoughtful and innovative solutions to them.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team, requiring minimal direction and follow-up
This position can be located in Philadelphia, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
