About the Job- We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to join one of our enterprise client engagements. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Spark, Airflow, ETL Kafka, DevOps along with experience working in fast-paced enterprise environments.

Key qualifications:

• Strong data analysis and discovery skills.
• Experience with historical data migration, and data model transformation.
• Experience building migration utilities, automation tools and data processing solutions.
• Strong backend development skills, with the ability to design and build applications and services supporting migration efforts.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and modern data architectures.
• Experience working with mainframe systems, DB2 databases, and legacy applications.
• Experience migrating data from legacy platforms to modern cloud-based data platforms (eg., BigQuery, AlloyDB, Postgres or similar)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development, analysis or migration tools to accelerate migration efforts.
• Experience evaluating and utilizing commercial or open-source migration tools and frameworks
• Ability to analyze existing business processes, reports and data assets and translate findings into migration requirements and technical solutions.
• Full-stack development experience to support both migration tooling and application modernization efforts.

Technical Skillset:

Languages: Python, Java/J2EE, SQL

Databases: PostgreSQL, BigQuery, DB2, Oracle, MySQL, Data modeling & schema design, ETL/ELT processes

Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, AlloyDB, Dataflow), Cloud SQL, Dataflow / Dataproc

Data Tools: Spark, Airflow, ETL Kafka.

Data Migration & Processing:

• Data extraction, transformation, mainframe migration
• loading (ETL/ELT), Data validation & reconciliation
• Apache Spark / PySpark,Apache Kafka or Pub/Sub
• Apache Airflow (orchestration)

DevOps: Git, Docker, CI/CD, Git version control

AI/ML Tools:   

 AI-assisted coding (GitHub Copilot)
