Job Description – Data Steward

Location-Remote

Position Overview

We are looking for a Data Steward responsible for maintaining data quality, consistency, accuracy, and governance across the organization. The role will work closely with business and technology teams to ensure data is properly defined, managed, documented, and used in accordance with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and monitor the quality, accuracy, and consistency of business data.
Define and maintain data definitions, business terms, and data standards.
Support data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with relevant teams.
Maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata, and related documentation.
Work with business users, data owners, IT, and analytics teams to understand data requirements.
Monitor data completeness, accuracy, validity, and consistency.
Support data classification, access controls, and appropriate data usage.
Assist with data lineage and impact analysis activities.
Participate in data governance and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure data management practices align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare reports and metrics related to data quality and governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Data Management, or a related field.
Good understanding of data governance and data quality concepts.
Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and data management tools.
Understanding of metadata, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage.
Basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
