We are hiring a Quantitative Risk Modeler!

Role: Quantitative Risk Modeler

Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: Hybrid - Open to candidates local to Merrifield, VA; Vienna, VA; Winchester, VA; or Pensacola, FL

Assignment Type: Contract Only

Duration: Approximately 6 months (with potential for extension)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Quantitative Risk Modeler to support advanced risk and cybersecurity analytics initiatives. This hybrid contract role is ideal for a senior-level quantitative professional who thrives on complex mathematical modeling, translating data into insight, and influencing high-impact security and risk decisions. This position offers the opportunity to apply deep theoretical expertise to real-world, mission-critical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and apply sophisticated models using probabilistic theory, game theory, and dynamic systems theory
  • Perform advanced data mining and data modeling on large and complex datasets
  • Leverage machine learning and statistical algorithms to support risk analysis
  • Design and deliver clear, compelling data visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Analyze and interpret data aligned to cybersecurity frameworks and risk domains
  • Communicate complex analytical results effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional audiences

Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in quantitative modeling or advanced analytics
  • Advanced expertise in probabilistic theory, game theory, and dynamic systems theory
  • Strong knowledge of database design, data mining, and data modeling concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to build impactful data visualizations
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Preferred Experience:
  • Advanced knowledge of Bayesian, Nash, algorithmic, or related game theory disciplines
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, and analytical tools such as Jupyter Notebook/JupyterLab or Visual Studio Code
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Plotly
  • Familiarity working with cybersecurity frameworks and security-related datasets


Compensation and Benefits:

The pay rate for this position is between $65.00 and $80.89 per hour, dependent on work location. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
