Summary

Position Overview

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all manufacturing equipment while minimizing downtime in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art facility. Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, this position leads a skilled maintenance team with a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to drive operational excellence and asset reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, motivated maintenance team.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, strong housekeeping practices, and full environmental compliance
  • Plan, schedule, and execute daily maintenance work orders
  • Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Manage asset reliability and coordinate facility upgrades and capital projects

  • Align maintenance activities with production goals and schedules
  • Monitor downtime and production reports to drive reliability improvements
  • Coordinate equipment trials, improvements, and vendor relationships
  • Support special engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Oversee procurement of maintenance-related parts and equipment
  • Facilitate safety and departmental training and communication
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of progressive maintenance and reliability experience, ideally in manufacturing or packaging
  • Proven success in developing, training, and reliability
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Technical expertise in AC/DC wiring, motors, drives, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Technical degree preferred
  • Corrugated industry experience is a plus

Qualifications

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to drive change.
Ability to effectively use oral and written communication skills to represent the needs of employees and management.
Ability to utilize information from multiple sources to maintain productivity.
Previous experience leading people in a box plant, printing operation, converting operation or paper mill is preferred.
Must be able to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost)
