Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (12+ Years Experience)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 12+ years of expertise in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and data architectures. The candidate will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring high data quality, and supporting advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for large-scale data processing.
Build and optimize data architectures (data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses).
Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Develop and manage data workflows using tools like Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across multiple data sources.
Optimize database performance, query tuning, and data storage strategies.
Implement real-time and batch data processing systems.
Lead data migration and modernization initiatives (on-prem to cloud).
Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data regulations.

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of experience in data engineering / big data development.
Strong expertise in SQL and Python / Scala / Java.
Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive.
Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka or Flink.
Expertise in ETL tools and data pipeline development.
Strong understanding of data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, etc.).
Experience with machine learning pipelines is a plus.
Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
