Network Technician

Network Staging Technician - Juniper Migration
TEKsystems has a client that is seeking a hands-on Network Staging Technician to support a system-wide migration from Cisco to Juniper. This role will be fully onsite at a Distribution Center and will focus on staging, testing, and lifecycle management of Juniper networking equipment. This is an execution-focused role - not design/architecture. The day-to-day is physical equipment handling, validation, and troubleshooting to support deployment at scale.
Contract Details:
1-2 year contract aligned to Juniper migration project
100% onsite
Key Responsibilities
Stage and prepare Juniper access points and related network hardware for deployment
Follow documented processes to configure and validate equipment prior to shipment
Test returned Juniper equipment from the field to determine usability
Process equipment outcomes:
Pass return to inventory
Fail engage Juniper TAC and coordinate RMA process
Track and maintain accurate inventory and asset records
Support basic troubleshooting when devices fail validation or don't behave as expected
Work closely with infrastructure teams, project teams, and vendors to keep inventory flowing
This role is heavily operational and repeatable, but requires someone who can think on their feet when something doesn't work as expected.
Required Skills / Experience
1-3+ years of hands-on IT or networking experience
Experience working with physical network hardware (APs, switches, etc.)
Comfortable with staging, inventory management, and equipment handling
Strong troubleshooting mindset - able to diagnose issues with limited documentation
High attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work onsite 100% of the time in a warehouse / delivery center environment
Skills
Network engineering, Troubleshooting, Cisco routers, Switches, Network connectivity, Juniper, Cisco switches, Data center, Infrastructure
Nice-to-Have
Experience with Juniper networking equipment
Familiarity with Juniper Mist
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, VLANs, etc.)
Experience working with vendor support (e.g., TAC cases, RMAs)

Comes from a network technician / deployment / staging
Comfortable in a hands-on, repetitive environment but can troubleshoot when needed
Doesn't need full documentation to get unstuck
Reliable, detail-oriented, and operationally disciplined

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
