Electrical Engineer (Contract Role)


Location: (Hybrid - In-office Mon-Thu, Remote Fri)


Pay: $48.85 - $73.27/hr.

We are seeking a Project Electrical Engineer for a high-impact contract role supporting advanced defense and aerospace engineering programs. This position focuses on the design and integration of complex electrical, control, and electromechanical systems used in underwater robotics and mission-critical U.S. Department of Defense applications.

This role is part of a multidisciplinary engineering team working on unique, one-of-a-kind projects where innovation, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering are essential. Engineers in this role are expected to contribute to design, build, integration, and testing activities-not just theoretical development.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and contribute to electrical system and subsystem design for complex robotic and control systems

  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system architecture documentation

  • Select and integrate COTS electrical components, sensors, and control devices

  • Design and implement DC power systems, signal interfaces, and communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, RS-485, etc.)

  • Perform power, load, and system performance calculations

  • Support integration, troubleshooting, testing, and validation of systems

  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional engineering collaboration

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in complex systems design

  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain DoD clearance required


Preferred Experience:


  • Robotics, ROV/AUV, marine, or defense systems

  • CAD tools (Altium, SolidWorks Electrical, MATLAB, etc.)

  • Power systems, controls, EMI mitigation, and system integration
