Senior IT Project Manager - DevOps Program & Operations

Job Summary
The Senior IT Project Manager (Sr. PM) will support a fortune 50 healthcare company's DevOps organization by driving program coordination, operational excellence, standardization initiatives, and leadership reporting across multiple engineering teams. This role will work closely with Scrum Masters, Engineering Leaders, and Segment Leadership to coordinate activities across a large-scale DevOps program consisting of more than 100 engineers spanning development, platform, and support functions.
The Sr. PM will lead cross-team planning and execution efforts, provide visibility into program health, identify risks and dependencies, coordinate operational reviews, and support the delivery of strategic DevOps initiatives. This individual will serve as a key liaison between engineering teams and leadership, ensuring alignment, transparency, and execution across multiple concurrent workstreams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technology Project or Program Manager with a proven track record leading large enterprise initiatives, presenting to executive stakeholders, managing operational metrics, and driving coordination across multiple agile teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead program coordination activities across multiple DevOps and platform engineering teams, ensuring alignment to organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Partner with Engineering Leaders and Scrum Masters to track progress, manage dependencies, identify delivery risks, and drive resolution of issues impacting execution.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, operational plans, status reporting, executive dashboards, and leadership communications.
- Facilitate weekly status reviews, leadership updates, periodic operational reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Analyze program and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, improvement opportunities, and areas requiring leadership attention.
- Coordinate cross-team initiatives focused on standardization, process improvement, platform adoption, and operational excellence.
- Support planning and execution activities, including roadmap development, release coordination, test planning, joint team planning, and operational readiness activities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to improve visibility into delivery progress, operational performance, and program outcomes.
- Drive issue, risk, dependency, and decision management processes across the organization.
- Coordinate activities across DevOps platforms and enterprise engineering capabilities, including Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, LaunchDarkly, SonarQube, and related engineering enablement services.
- Promote continuous improvement through the use of operational KPIs, delivery metrics, and DevOps best practices.
- Support leadership discussions regarding capacity planning, operational priorities, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate operational activities across DevOps and Support organizations, including collaboration with Scrum teams, on-call coordination, test planning efforts, and cross-team execution activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience coordinating large-scale technology programs involving multiple agile teams and enterprise-wide platforms.
- 3+ years of experience presenting project or program health, risks, and operational performance to senior leaders and executives.
- 3+ years of experience facilitating operational reviews and analyzing performance metrics with business and technology stakeholders.
- Experience managing initiatives across multiple engineering teams in a complex enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, coordinate stakeholders, and drive execution across large programs.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile delivery practices, DevOps operations, and enterprise technology platforms.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Experience creating executive-level reporting, status communications, dashboards, operational reviews, and leadership presentations.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, or similar technologies) to create project deliverables, develop executive communications, analyze program data, and improve reporting efficiency and overall program execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project/program management certification.
- Experience supporting DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Software Engineering organizations.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, LaunchDarkly, SonarQube, Jira, or similar enterprise software delivery platforms.
- Experience coordinating enterprise standardization or transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in large regulated environments, preferably healthcare or insurance.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
