Manager of Platform Engineering (Hands-On Technical Leader)

We are seeking a hands-on Manager of Platform Engineering to lead the design, delivery, and support of scalable, high-availability application environments. This role blends technical leadership with direct ownership of infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps practices. You will play a key role in driving platform reliability, deployment efficiency, and overall engineering maturity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the build, release, and operation of large-scale, highly available application environments


• Manage Windows-based infrastructure including server configuration, deployments, and IIS administration


• Design, implement, and support containerized environments using Kubernetes (AKS)


• Drive CI/CD strategy and execution, improving automation and deployment efficiency


• Own release management processes, including build pipelines, versioning, and production deployments


• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell


• Partner with development, QA, and business teams to streamline delivery and resolve issues


• Ensure platform reliability, performance, and scalability across environments


• Apply strong networking fundamentals including DNS, HTTP/S, load balancing, and TCP/IP

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure roles


• 2+ years of leadership or team management experience


• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, IIS, and .NET applications


• Proven experience with Kubernetes (AKS) in production environments


• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform


• Strong background in CI/CD tools and deployment automation (Octopus Deploy preferred)


• Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices


• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills


• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, HTTP/S, TCP/IP)


• Experience supporting production releases; PCI or regulated environment experience is a plus


• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure and application layers


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
