Title: Database Administrator – Consultant

Location: Columbia, SC 29210 [remote]

Duration: 4 Months

Job Description

The Database Administrator (DBA) will manage and support the MS SQL database environment for the Sex Offender Registry Messaging Service project. This role will ensure database integrity, performance optimization, security, backup/recovery planning, and support for application integration.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain MS SQL databases.
Develop and optimize stored procedures, queries, and database objects.
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
Support data migration, synchronization, and integration processes.
Ensure database security and compliance standards are maintained.
Assist development teams with schema design and optimization.
Support testing and production deployment activities.
Participate in disaster recovery and backup planning.

Required Skills

Strong MS SQL Server administration experience
Database performance tuning
Data integration and ETL support
Backup/recovery management
Experience supporting .NET applications
Experience in criminal justice or government systems preferred

Preferred:

Law enforcement messaging switch experience
LEMS/Unisys integration experience is heavily weighted in evaluation scoring.
