Summary
Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst
Position Summary
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst plays a crucial role within the Digital Experience team by delivering robust data models, dashboards, and automated analytics that stakeholders across the business use to drive strategic decisions.
Our organization is currently undergoing a major enterprise data modernization initiative, transitioning legacy infrastructure into a modern architecture. This role is ideal for a highly independent, technically deep professional who excels at building complex data models from scratch, implementing advanced ETL processes, and creating automated data solutions rather than handling ad-hoc reporting.
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-for-Hire
Location: 100% Fully Remote
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Modeling: Design and develop robust data models from scratch using modern architecture. Establish clean relationships between complex datasets across multiple enterprise data sources (Data Warehouses, ERP, CRM, and CMS).
- Modernization & Migration: Directly support the active migration of legacy, cube-based data models into a modern, centralized enterprise data environment.
- Dashboard Development: Design, build, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and visualizations—including advanced geospatial mapping (e.g., ArcGIS maps)—to track key business KPIs.
- ETL & Automation: Build and manage automated workflows and data pipelines. Leverage advanced data flows and script-driven transformation to eliminate manual reporting processes.
- Data Validation & Reconciliation: Programmatically reconcile and validate underlying data models against front-end dashboards using data-driven methodologies, ensuring total data integrity and accuracy.
- Performance Tuning: Perform data optimization techniques, such as minimizing unique values in columns and streamlining complex queries, to maximize dashboard rendering speeds.
- Stakeholder Management: Gather business requirements directly from cross-functional teams, translate stakeholder pain points into efficient technical specifications, and present data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Required Core Technical Skills
- Data Modeling Expertise: Deep theoretical and practical understanding of relational database structures, including Star Schemas, Fact tables, and Dimension tables.
- Advanced Power BI & DAX: Mastery of Power BI development, specifically utilizing the DAX Query View to query data models, write complex formulas, and establish custom measures.
- SQL Proficiency: Advanced SQL querying skills for heavy data manipulation, validation, and database backend analysis.
- Python Programming: Practical experience using Python for backend data transformation, notebook development, and workflow automation.
- Modern Cloud Data Infrastructure: Hands-on experience working within cloud data environments (e.g., Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms), including managing automated dataflows and data notebooks.
Experience & Background
- At least 5 years of progressive experience delivering enterprise-level business analytics, ETL pipelines, and BI dashboard solutions.
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- An automation-first mindset with experience leveraging automated workflows, workflow automation tools, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
- Strong independent problem-solving skills with a commitment to understanding deep technical concepts over relying on AI-assisted or pre-prepared answers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with major enterprise data sources such as Salesforce, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Familiarity with customer-facing digital analytics, portal engagement tracking, or marketing analytics.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing, housing, or architectural industry space.
Benefits & Perks (During Contract Period)
- Comprehensive Medical & Dental Benefits
- Paid Time Off (PTO) & Paid Holidays
- 401(k) with an immediately vested company match
- Please note: H1-B Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. No third-party candidates.
