Position Purpose:

The associate will be part of the Engineering department providing expertise in machine controls, SCADA systems, and data acquisition technologies. This role acts as the primary local contact for automation-related support. Responsibilities include supporting plant systems (KBE, MII, Ignition), optimizing software and ladder logic, and collaborating with process engineers to troubleshoot PLC and machine software issues. The associate will also maintain PLC/HMI backups and support electrical updates, installation, and testing of machine modifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the KBE technology on plant.
  • Support the Ignition project implementation and maintenance.
  • Keep updated PLC and HMI backups library of critical equipment.
  • With the help of OEM and corp follow programming changes in support of department engineers as they test/make improvements to the process to include basic PLC and HMI programming.
  • Perform basic PLC and HMI maintenance routines.
  • Maintain and test remote assistance platforms for OEM connection to assets.
  • Participate on machine overhaul and modification projects from an electronic/ electric and controls perspective.
  • Maintain communication with machine OEM for software updates/modifications of existing assets.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and IT to develop and deploy manufacturing controls such as automated poka-yokes/vision systems and software restrictions.
  • Update, and troubleshoot automation equipment and PLC's.

Education / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Automation, Control , Industrial, Mechanical or related field Engineering or equivalent.
Advanced business and technical English language.

Good knowledge on Root Cause Analysis techniques
Design, develop, coordinate, and deploy work instructions/procedures.
Fundamentals of PLC programing and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of some of industrial controls and applications in preferred (SIEMENS or MITSUBISHI or ALLEN BRANDLEY).
Basic software design applied to Ladder logic.
Basic knowledge programming HMI/ SCADA products.
Software documentation, control and safe keeping.
