Summary
Vaco has partnered with a client on the northwest side of Indianapolis to hire an Electrical Estimator for a full time, direct hire opportunity.
This person will work onsite at the Indianapolis office and also travel statewide to project locations.
Position Summary:
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for analyzing electrical plans and specifications, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the bid process for a variety of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, labor costs, and construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze project plans, specifications, and documentation to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical work.

Perform quantity take-offs to determine material, labor, and time requirements.

Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

Prepare and present comprehensive bid packages and proposals.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to support bid strategy development.

Stay current on market pricing, labor trends, and industry standards.

Conduct post-project cost reviews to enhance future estimating accuracy.

Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate project conditions and scope.
Qualifications:
-
3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential construction.

Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or equivalent).

Strong knowledge of electrical codes, systems, and construction practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines.

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

Licensed electrician (journeyman or master) or relevant field experience is a plus.

OSHA certification or familiarity with safety standards is beneficial.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
