Position Overview

The client is seeking an intermediate-level Microsoft .NET Developer to support its ITS Development Team. The successful candidate will contribute throughout the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and quality assurance, implementation, user training, documentation, and ongoing application maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

·        Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, and technical design.

·        Develop, enhance, test, implement, and maintain web-based applications on the Microsoft platform.

·        Support application testing and quality assurance, troubleshoot issues, and help resolve technical problems.

·        Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and process documentation.

·        Create and manage work plans, track project activities, and manage competing priorities.

·        Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to deliver project objectives.

·        Provide guidance and mentorship to other employees as needed.

·        Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, including in a public-facing work environment.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

Candidates must demonstrate the following required skills and experience:

·        ASP.NET Web Forms: Advanced experience required. MVC experience will not be accepted as a substitute.

·        VB.NET or C#: Advanced experience required.

·        Visual Studio 2010 or later: Advanced experience required.

·        JavaScript, HTML, and CSS: Advanced experience required for each.

·        AJAX, jQuery, and Bootstrap: Intermediate experience required for each.

·        JSON: Beginner-level experience required.

·        XML: Intermediate experience required.

·        SQL Server 2016 or later: Advanced experience required.

·        Complex SQL: Intermediate experience writing complex queries, functions, and stored procedures.

·        Windows operating systems: Intermediate experience required.

·        Console and batch applications: Beginner-level experience writing applications for data interfaces.

·        WCF web services: Beginner-level experience developing services using Windows Communication Foundation.

·        Microsoft web application development: Advanced experience designing and implementing web-based applications.

·        Full software development life cycle: Advanced experience across analysis, requirements definition, design, technical research/specifications, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

·        Azure DevOps / Git: Beginner-level experience with source code management is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

·        Experience developing and maintaining payment applications.

·        Experience developing and maintaining licensing and permitting applications.

·        Experience with data conversion or migration; DTS and SSIS migration packages are excluded.

·        Experience using Crystal Reports Designer.

·        Experience with ADA Title II compliance.

Additional Information

This is a 100% onsite contract position in Jackson, Mississippi. Remote work is not available. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 40 hours per week. A fingerprint screening is required. The contract is expected to run for approximately three years.

Candidate Submission Checklist

·        Confirm availability to work onsite in Jackson, Mississippi, five days per week.

·        Clearly document hands-on ASP.NET Web Forms experience (MVC alone does not meet this requirement).

·        Include specific experience with VB.NET or C#, SQL Server 2016+, and the required web technologies.

·        Highlight any preferred experience in payment applications, licensing and permitting, data migration, Crystal Reports, or ADA Title II compliance.

·        Confirm willingness to complete fingerprint screening.
