Summary

For a Medium to Large Site, the IT Manager provides leadership to the IT Solutions team who provides Systems analysis, design, development and support for Global Systems (including SFC, ERP and Integration) and also the IT Infrastructures team who provides infrastructure services and support. Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate managers and employees performing diverse roles within a site. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional or national basis. Work is guided by broad site objectives and corporate policy. Work requires developing solutions, precedents, and/or policies. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and sets goals to achieve objectives. Establishes long-term plans/objectives and recommends changes to policies. Develops department budgets and goals.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Oversee and lead systems analysis, design, development and support for existing Global IT Systems
  • Manage and oversee cross-functional projects
  • Manage and motivate a team of people to a common goal, as well as perform regular people leader activities - reviewing performance, approving employee compensation and coaching employees in terms of development
  • Oversee budgets and investments for a medium to large site
  • Integrate and manage external service suppliers
  • Perform and support change management activities


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis and ability to resolve complex process/system problems using financial, analytical and statistical models.
  • Knowledge of management methodologies and finance.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of IT requirements for an end to end solution, including security, business continuity, disaster recovery, Risk analysis and prepare Business Case
  • Good ability to plan projects and tasks.
  • Ability to negotiate budgets and plans with business owners and financial controllers.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Broad knowledge of Celestica IT architecture strategies.
  • Understanding of IT Infrastructure & Networking & Application Development LifeCycle
  • Experience in Customer relationship management
  • Broad Knowledge / experience with application integration and technical analysis
  • Understanding of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Understanding of SCM and manufacturing processes and ERP applications.


Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.


Typical Experience

  • 7+ years experience in Information Technology with a least 4 years within manufacturing and preferably 1+ years within the Electronics Manufacturing Services or Contract Manufacturing Sector. Experience working with and negotiating with from shop floor thru to senior management and also with customers and suppliers


Typical Education


  • Bachelor's Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
