Overview

 This role is central to an ongoing initiative to re-platform the company''s portfolio of brand websites onto a modern headless architecture using Next.js, .NET, and WordPress as headless CMS.

The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and optimize web applications, APIs, and content delivery systems that power the company''s digital presence across multiple brands. In this senior individual-contributor role, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-based web experiences and integrations, applying strong software engineering practices and modern DevOps principles. Your technical depth, problem-solving ability, and collaboration skills will help evolve the company''s web platform, enabling faster time to market, improved site performance, and a consistent brand experience.

TECHNICAL FOCUS

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Next.js (React) with server-side rendering and static generation

• Build and maintain .NET Core / C# APIs that serve as the backend layer between WordPress headless CMS and the Next.js frontend

• Work with WordPress as a headless CMS — building and consuming GraphQL APIs for content delivery

• Build and optimize cloud-native applications hosted on Azure AKS

• Implement reusable, modular component libraries and page templates for multi-brand site consistency

• Optimize Core Web Vitals and site performance across desktop and mobile

• Experience with web frontend frameworks — Next.js required; familiarity with Angular or Vue a plus

• Experience with Cloud platforms — Azure required; AWS or Google Cloud Platform familiarity a plus

• Use relational databases such as SQL Server

• Apply CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps using YAML

• Implement automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), code review, and observability best practices

• Participate in DevOps practices including infrastructure as code using Terraform

• Experience with SEO technical implementation including structured data / schema markup is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Craft and refine user stories with clear business value and acceptance criteria

• Apply value assessment, release planning, and stakeholder management to ensure delivery alignment with business priorities

• Apply modern software engineering principles, including modular architecture, clean code, and scalable API design

• Design, develop, and maintain the headless CMS integration layer connecting WordPress, .NET APIs, and Next.js frontends

• Collaborate with product, marketing, and SEO teams to define content models, integration patterns, and performance goals

• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data protection practices across services

• Facilitate collaborative development practices, including paired/ensemble programming and code reviews

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, fostering alignment and transparency

• Apply strong communication and conflict resolution skills to promote productive discussions and decision-making

• Provide informal mentoring and coaching to team members

• Support monitoring, logging, and alerting for web platform health and performance

• Contribute to the migration of legacy brand sites to the new headless architecture
