Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
An Engineering Technician supports tooling in prescribing compounds and providing preventive maintenance to complex custom equipment.
Essential Functions:- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, and laboratory areas.
- Assists in the test and check-out of custom tooling.
- Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- May work with complex machines or computer systems.
- Performs calibration and alignment check, prepares prescribed compounds and solutions
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs complete Preventive Maintenance on complex custom Tooling.
- Major communications with multiple departments of Engineers
Qualifications:- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant Engineering Technician experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:- Tooling experience is preferred.
- Familiarity of GD&T
- Previous mechanical knowledge
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $82,500 - $153,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $71,500 - $132,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
