Job Details

**Role can be based out of the San Jose or Alameda offices.**

As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Engineering Department, serving as a hands-on technical lead designer. You'll have the opportunity to see your designs come to life, not just through blueprints, but through real-world applications in the field. With project accountability and the ability to influence outcomes, you will ensure that our plumbing systems are designed for seamless execution and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Ownership: Drive the plumbing design process from the initial concept through to permitting and issuance for construction, establishing clear design parameters and strategies.
• QA/QC Execution: Ensure quality assurance and control at all project milestones, including verification of calculations, designs, and compliance with building codes.
• Field Integration: Provide support during construction, including reviewing submittals, addressing RFIs, and resolving on-site challenges to ensure smooth project execution.
• Client Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers to refine design options and support clear communication with clients and contractors.
• Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior engineers, enhancing their technical knowledge and developing their skills through hands-on project involvement.
• Innovation Implementation: Develop and improve design documentation standards and templates to increase efficiency and quality in project deliverables.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. (Required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
• An excellent understanding of plumbing engineering fundamentals, systems, and installation standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is a plus.
• Familiarity with local and State building codes is essential.
