Description: Senior IT Project Manager Extensive SAP Expertise RequiredSummaryThe Senior IT Project Manager leads large-scale, multi-workstream IT initiatives with a strong focus on SAP and enterprise data platforms. This role requires
significant, hands-on experience managing SAP programs, including ECC, S/4HANA, and RISE migrations, as well as Data Lake and analytics ecosystem integrations. The position oversees scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder communication while ensuring all projects adhere to PMO standards and are delivered successfully from concept through implementation.
ResponsibilitiesSAP-Focused Program Leadership- Lead multiple critical IT programs with a heavy emphasis on SAP ECC, S/4HANA, RISE, integrations, and Data Lake ecosystems.
- Oversee SAP-related project planning, dependency management, cutover planning, data migration activities, testing coordination, and post-go-live transition.
- Partner with SAP functional and technical teams to ensure alignment between business requirements, SAP capabilities, and project deliverables.
- Evaluate SAP architecture impacts and ensure project decisions align with system design, roadmap standards, and enterprise governance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for SAP-related risks, issues, and integration challenges across applications and infrastructure.
General Project & Program Management- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, work breakdown structures, resource plans, budgets, and status reports.
- Lead project meetings, maintain project documentation, and manage cross-functional communication.
- Ensure all projects follow standard PMO processes, tools, and governance (Planview experience preferred).
- Oversee third-party vendors, reviewing deliverables and ensuring alignment with project scope and quality standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement- Work closely with IT, business stakeholders, architects, security, and application teams to drive clarity, alignment, and shared ownership.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical plans with a focus on enterprise SAP and data capabilities.
- Influence across organizational boundaries and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement- Drive process improvements within project, program, and portfolio management.
- Provide mentorship to junior project managers and contribute to building a high-performance project delivery culture.
- Support organizational change management and adoption for SAP and data-related initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExtensive SAP Expertise (Required)- Deep, hands-on experience managing programs involving SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP RISE migrations, integrations, cutovers, data conversions, testing, and go-live readiness.
- Strong understanding of SAP functional processes, technical architecture, and cross-module dependencies.
- Experience working with SAP-aligned Data Lake, analytics, and reporting platforms (Databricks, Snowflake preferred).
Core Capabilities- Advanced project, program, and portfolio management skills with a proven record of delivering complex IT initiatives.
- Experience with SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
- Strong business process management background and excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, influence without authority, and operate in a global, matrixed environment.
- Financial management expertise including budgeting, forecasting, and status reporting.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Preferred experience in M&A integration initiatives.
- Planview experience is strongly preferred.
