Senior Software Engineer, Map Engine & Data Integration We are seeking a highly skilled Map Software Engineer to drive the development, integration, and validation of our next-generation mapping engine. This role is central to our mission of providing
seamless, high-fidelity navigation and ADAS capabilities. You will be responsible for the "brain" that bridges raw map data (SD and HD) with real-time vehicle perception, ensuring that the vehicle knows exactly where it is and what lies ahead with centimeter-level precision.
Key Responsibilities Engine Development: Design and optimize high-performance map engines capable of concurrent processing of SD (Standard Definition) for navigation and HD (High Definition) for autonomous driving/ADAS.
Data Integration: Build and maintain scalable pipelines to ingest and fuse diverse map data formats (e.g., NDS, OSM, or proprietary HD formats) into a unified runtime representation.
Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with the Perception and Localization teams to integrate map attributes (lane geometry, topology, speed limits) into the vehicle s planning stack.
Validation & Simulation: Develop automated testing frameworks and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environments to validate map-dependent features across edge cases and global geographies.
Quality Metrics: Define and implement data-driven KPIs to measure map quality, lane-graph connectivity, and localization reliability using fleet telemetry.
Performance Optimization: Ensure low-latency map data retrieval and memory-efficient tiles/caching mechanisms for embedded automotive hardware.
Required Qualifications Education: B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or a related technical field.
C++/Python Mastery: 5+ years of experience in modern C++ for real-time systems and Python for tooling and automation.
RTOS (QNX preferred but not required) or Linux Mapping Expertise: Strong fundamentals in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), coordinate transformations (WGS84, ECEF, UTM), and topological graph analysis.
Testing Rigor: Proven track record in developing unit, integration, and regression tests for safety-critical software.
Preferred Skills SD/HD Experience: Practical experience with map formats like NDS (Navigation Data Standard), ADASIS, or specialized HD map lane-level attributes.
Experience with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) or sensor fusion (Lidar, Camera, GPS).
Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, gRPC).
Background in large-scale data processing (e.g., Spark, AWS/Google Cloud Platform) for map tile generation.
Knowledge of deep learning applications for map attribute extraction or quality monitoring
