Job Title: Engineering Technician II

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location: Fargo, ND 58102
Duration: 12 Months - Possible Extension/Conversion
Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Training: Must be available to train on 1st Shift as needed
Safety: Metatarsals Required


Job Purpose

Test electronic products and assemblies to verify product performance, reliability, and production readiness.

Major Purpose
  • Perform instrumented tests using established procedures to verify system performance against product specifications.
  • Support product validation and verification activities.
  • Identify problems, determine corrective actions, track issues, and support reliability analysis.
  • Provide input on test procedures to engineers and support personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, schedule, and perform field and laboratory tests for new product designs.
  • Analyze test data, draw conclusions, and prepare test reports.
  • Develop programs for data acquisition.
  • Collect and install test instrumentation.
  • Set up laboratory equipment according to engineering instructions.
  • Conduct manual testing of electronic assemblies and document results.
  • Compile test reports and communicate results to engineering/design teams.
  • Assist with testing procedures and process documentation.
  • Support product design changes and continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide work direction to test operators.
  • Perform maintenance on test equipment and products.
  • Maintain accurate product records and documentation.

Required Skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and word-processing software.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering documents, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Mechanical systems, Hydraulic systems, Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and product testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) processes.

Education

Required:
  • A.S. in Electronics, or
  • 2-year technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience.

  • Engineering/Engineering Technology
  • Science
  • Agricultural Sciences

Experience

Required:
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.

Preferred:
  • 3+ years of related experience in: Engineering, Product design, Product testing and analysis, Engineering tools, systems, or databases

What Makes You Stand Out
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and electronic components.
  • Knowledge of test equipment such as: Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Other electronic test equipment
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Electronics, Electrical work/electrical contracting, Automotive repair, Communication/networking hardware, Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Farming/agricultural equipment

Additional Knowledge
  • Familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering processes and product development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with company engineering systems, processes, and databases.
  • Understanding of relevant machine forms and product configurations.

Work Schedule & Requirements
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
  • Must be flexible to train on 1st Shift for as long as required.
  • Metatarsal safety footwear is required.
