Compensation: - Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000

Visit the Employee Benefits page for more information Position Summary & Responsibilities: The IT Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for agency-level IT operational services, ensuring reliable, secure, and effective technology support. This position manages end-user support, service desk operations, endpoint and asset management activities, and coordination with centralized IT and cybersecurity service providers. The IT Operations Manager supervises technical staff, supports operational planning and budgeting, and collaborates with IT leadership and enterprise partners to improve services and align technology resources with agency business needs.
IT Operations Leadership and Service Delivery:
Provides leadership and direction for IT operations teams, including end-user support, service desk, IT security, and systems administration staff. Assigns priorities, monitors service delivery, supports staff development, and ensures effective incident, request, and problem management processes. Coordinates with centralized IT teams to resolve issues and improve technology services across the agency.
Endpoint, Asset, Security, and Compliance Management:
Oversees agency technology asset lifecycle activities, including device deployment, maintenance, inventory, and retirement. Coordinates hardware and software asset management, licensing compliance, endpoint security activities, vulnerability remediation efforts, and adherence to agency security standards in partnership with centralized cybersecurity teams.
Collaboration Technology and User Support:
Supports agency use of collaboration technologies, including Microsoft 365 tools, audio/visual systems, and remote meeting solutions. Provides first-level troubleshooting and coordinates with centralized IT teams for issues requiring enterprise-level resolution.
Planning, Budgeting, and Operational Improvement:
Collaborates with IT leadership on budgeting, purchasing, lifecycle planning, and service improvements. Provides operational reporting, recommendations, and insights to support agency technology goals.
Qualifications: - Associate degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business administration or a related field.
- Three years of experience in a related IT role, with at least one year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity. Experience supporting IT operations, managing priorities, coordinating technology services, and leading or mentoring team members.
- Three years' working experience in a related IT role or position. One year's experience in a lead or supervisory role. Knowledge planning and managing IT budgets. Familiarity managing relationships with vendors including reviewing contracts and monitoring service level agreements. Experience leading and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional certifications or training in IT operations, service management, cybersecurity, asset management, or related disciplines. Preferred certifications may include ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft certifications (such as Modern Desktop or Azure), HDI Support Center Manager, IAITAM asset management certifications, CISA, CISM, or other relevant industry certifications.
- Experience supervising IT teams and managing the delivery of enterprise technology services, including end-user support, service desk operations, infrastructure support, security, or asset management activities.
Special Knowledge Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of IT service management practices, end-user support operations, endpoint lifecycle management, hardware and software asset management, and enterprise technology support processes. Ability to evaluate operational needs, prioritize services, and ensure reliable delivery of IT support.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, technology compliance practices, and enterprise IT policies. Ability to coordinate with centralized cybersecurity and IT service providers to support agency security requirements and operational objectives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to supervise technical staff, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with technical teams, business users, agency leadership, and external partners.
