Senior Data Engineer

job summary:

Join our Data & AI Practice as a Senior Data Engineer driving cutting-edge enterprise data initiatives. In this role, you will lead the architecture, engineering, and maintenance of scalable data platforms supporting high-impact analytics, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions. This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Charlotte, NC (3 days onsite per week).

responsibilities:

• Design, construct, and manage end-to-end production data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Python, SQL, and modern cloud technologies.
• Architect high-performance data lakes and data warehouse environments leveraging cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Implement large-scale batch and real-time streaming infrastructure using Apache Spark, Kafka, and Apache Airflow.
• Establish robust DevOps and DataOps workflows, incorporating automated CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and data quality standards.

qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of hands-on experience in building and optimizing production-grade data systems.

Expert proficiency in Python and complex SQL development.

Demonstrated mastery of Big Data frameworks (Apache Spark) and cloud data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse).

Proven track record in data modeling, star schema design, and orchestration workflow engines.

Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Charlotte, NC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience building infrastructure for Machine Learning pipelines, Generative AI, or LLM data workloads.

Hands-on knowledge of Databricks, dbt (Data Build Tool), Delta Lake, or Apache Iceberg.

Familiarity with containerization and IaC tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
