QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate and one year of training beyond high school or three years clerical experience in an office environment. Strong data management, reporting, and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of school library operations and instructional resource inventory and management. Ability to provide training and technical support to School Library Media Coordinators. Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in a K-12 school library or district media services environment. Experience supporting district-wide instructional or library programs. Familiarity with Student Information System (SIS) integrations and data workflows. Experience working with library management systems. Knowledge of Google applications, Destiny, Infinite Campus, Clever and Microsoft suite.

JOB GOAL: To provide quality assistance to Central Services, Media Services, and all schools in the area of school library media services and district initiatives.
The Media Services Destiny Data Manager is a specialized, district-level position responsible
for the integrity, functionality, and integrations of the district's library management system
(Follett Destiny), as well as for supporting systemwide school library programs and
initiatives. This role manages complex data integrations with the Student Information System (SIS), produces and analyzes school collection and usage data, provides technical and instructional support to school Media Coordinators, and coordinates districtwide library
programming and events.
This position requires knowledge of library systems, school library operations, and district library initiatives. The responsibilities are
programmatic and technical in nature and competency with computers/technology is essential.
This position serves as a facilitator of district strategic initiatives. This role works cross-departmentally to implement district initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Destiny Library Management System & Data Governance
Manages the districtwide Destiny Library Management System, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with district standards.
Oversees and executes patron imports and updates from the Student Information System (SIS), including troubleshooting data discrepancies and resolving access issues.
Establishes, maintains, and enforces standardized patron types, access levels, and site configurations across schools.
Serves as the primary point of contact for Destiny system management, escalations, and coordination with the vendor and district SIS and Technology Departments, as needed.
Data Reporting, Analysis, and Support
Generates and analyzes district and school-level Destiny reports related to collection size, age, circulation, inventory, and usage.
Provides data to support collection development, budgeting, audits, accreditation, and district reporting needs.
Supports Media Services leadership and school administrators with data interpretation to inform instructional and programmatic decisions.
Training, Technical Support, and Site-Based Assistance
Assists with Destiny training for Media Coordinators, including onboarding of new staff and ongoing professional learning.
Conducts school site visits to support Media Coordinators with Destiny setup, inventory processes, reporting, and best practices.
Provides hands-on troubleshooting and consultation related to library system workflows and procedures.
District Professional Library Management
Manages the district professional library collection.
Supports professional learning initiatives by ensuring resources are accessible, discoverable, and accurately maintained in Destiny.
Library Program & Event Coordination
Coordinates logistics for district Battle of the Books competitions, including schedules, programs, signage, room setups, officials, meals, awards, and materials.
Works closely with Media Services staff, volunteers, school personnel, and vendors to ensure events run smoothly and consistently across the district.
Maintains records, materials, and procedures to ensure continuity and program quality year to year.
Vendor Relations and Annual Vendor Fair Coordination
Serves as the primary district contact for library-related vendors, including Destiny (Follett) and other instructional resource providers.
Coordinates communication, issue resolution, and system updates in collaboration with Media Services leadership and district departments as needed.
Plans and manages the annual Media Services Vendor Fair, including vendor recruitment, logistics, scheduling, communication, space planning, and event-day coordination.
Ensures alignment of vendor offerings with district instructional goals and library program priorities.
Maintains professional relationships with vendors to support purchasing efficiency, resource awareness, and program quality across schools.
Media Services Program Support
Provides operational and logistical support for Media Services initiatives, professional learning events, and library-related programs.
Supports the implementation of district library priorities through coordination, preparation of materials, and on-site assistance.
Performs other Media Services-specific duties as assigned that require knowledge of school library operations and systems.
District Initiatives Support
Collaborate cross-departmentally to assist in the development and implementation of district initiatives to include Choice Programs, STARward STEM, Countdown to Kindergarten, textbook adoptions and Student Activities events and other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
Must be able to perform medium lifting exerting up to 20 lbs.
