CAD Modeler - Hybrid

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in the Houston/Spring area that is looking for a CAD Modeler. This is a hybrid position.

Job Duties:
* Assists in developing vessel models by creating hull geometry, compartments, tanks, and sectional properties using tools such as HECSALV, NAPA, and other approved modeling software
* Learns to interpret GA plans, lines plans, midship sections, and structural drawings to support building accurate vessel representations
* Performs basic model quality checks and learns to identify geometry or data issues under guidance
* Assists in updating and maintaining vessel models when new drawings or configuration changes are provided
* Helps troubleshoot modeling issues and work with senior team members to resolve data inconsistencies
* Collaborates with engineering teams, asks questions, and builds understanding of modeling requirements and inputs

REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate Degree in modeling, or engineering
* 0-3+ years of experience in vessel modeling, naval architecture modeling, marine CAD, or similar technical modeling work
* Foundational understanding of naval architecture principles with strong willingness to continue learning
* Some exposure to modeling tools such as HECSALV, NAPA, GHS, Rhino, ShipConstructor, SolidWorks, or similar platforms; able to learn and build proficiency over time
* Introductory exposure to Finite Element Methods, AutoCAD, and Rhino
* Able to read basic GA plans, lines plans, and sectional drawings, with developing ability to visualize 3D geometry from 2D drawings
* Basic familiarity with structural steel components and naval architecture concepts
* Developing problem solving skills and ability to work through modeling issues with support and guidance
* Developing written and verbal communication skills appropriate for supporting engineering work
* Able to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and learn from senior modelers

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
