Architectural Engineer
Location : Pelzer, South Carolina, United States
We are hiring for an Architectural Engineer to join one of our leading clients in the building design and engineering space. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in building systems integration, structural coordination, MEP design support, and construction documentation.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical engineering expertise, design coordination, and problem-solving ability to support safe, sustainable, and high-performing building solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze integrated building systems
- Develop engineering solutions that align architectural design with structural and MEP requirements
- Prepare engineering calculations, construction documents, and technical specifications
- Support design of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and technical documentation
- Perform building performance analysis
- Participate in site inspections and construction administration
- Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
- Support client meetings, presentations, and project discussions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Architectural Engineering or related field
- PE License (Professional Engineer) required
- 5+ years of experience in building systems design
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards
- Experience with integrated building design
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s degree in Architectural Engineering or related field
- LEED AP certification
- Experience with BIM technology
- Knowledge of energy modeling software
- Background in commissioning
- Experience with historic preservation is a plus
