Position Title: Senior IT Project Manager

Job Description:

The Senior IT Project Manager will lead the City of Sunnyvale s Desktop and Laptop Refresh Program, managing the planning, coordination, execution, reporting, and closeout of the project. The role will oversee refresh activities for approximately 200 300 devices across multiple City departments and locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop project charter, schedule, resource plan, RAID log, and communication plan.
• Coordinate with IT Operations, Help Desk, Procurement, Information Security, and City departments.
• Manage device refresh planning, procurement coordination, deployment waves, and rollout schedule.
• Oversee build, imaging, configuration, testing, and pilot readiness activities.
• Track deployment progress, exceptions, risks, issues, and stakeholder updates.
• Coordinate asset inventory, data migration, device retirement, and documentation.
• Prepare weekly status reports, steering updates, meeting notes, and final closeout report.
• Ensure the project is completed on schedule with minimal business disruption.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years of IT project management experience.
• Experience managing desktop/laptop refresh, device deployment, or IT infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of asset management, endpoint deployment, data migration, and IT operations.
• Experience working with public sector or municipal clients preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, scheduling, and reporting skills.
