IT Manager

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Compliance

• Develop, review, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.

• Ensure all project requests comply with IT governance, security protocols, and regulations.

• Support IT governance committees: prepare materials, track action items, and document decisions.

• Collect, analyze, and report on IT quality metrics to inform decisions and continuous improvement.

• Facilitate training and communication on IT policies and compliance requirements.

• Escalate and document suspected policy violations following established procedures.

Project Intake & Review

• Review project submissions for completeness, technical feasibility, and alignment with IT strategy.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects and technical leads to validate technology choices and integration.

• Prepare project materials for review by governance boards or steering committees.

• Document funding justifications, risk assessments, and compliance as part of intake packages.

Stakeholder Communication & Facilitation

• Act as primary IT liaison for project requests and technology proposals.

• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to clarify requirements and scope.

• Coordinate with IT architects, engineers, cybersecurity, and operations to ensure solution integrity.

• Communicate updates on project timelines, changes, and requirements to leadership.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve project intake and evaluation processes.

• Develop templates, guidelines, and training to help business users submit quality project requests.

• Draft new policies, procedures, and guidance for management approval.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate s degree in IT, Business, Operations, Communications, or related field.

• 3 5+ years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).

• Solid understanding of IT governance, SDLC, and regulatory compliance (data privacy, cybersecurity standards).

• Experience developing and maintaining IT policy and procedure documentation.

• Experience facilitating communication/training on IT policy and compliance.

• Experience escalating and documenting policy violations.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred

• Project management experience.

• Experience negotiating contracts.

• Experience working across multiple departments or units.

• Familiarity with public sector or regulated industries.

• Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., NDAA, HITRUST, NIST).

• Proven ability to drive process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
