Summary

Key Responsibilities

Production Support

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for Java-based applications and APIs
  • Monitor application health and availability in production environments
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis
  • Support on-call rotation for critical production issues
  • Analyze JVM errors, thread dumps, and application logs
  • Work closely with development teams to resolve defects

API Monitoring & Support

  • Monitor REST/SOAP APIs for performance and availability
  • Troubleshoot API latency, failures, and timeout issues
  • Analyze request/response payloads and error codes
  • Support microservices-based architecture in production
  • Track API dependencies and downstream system failures
  • Validate API functionality after deployments

Monitoring & Observability

  • Use Dynatrace for end-to-end transaction monitoring and performance analysis
  • Use Splunk for log monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting
  • Create dashboards for API performance and health metrics
  • Configure alerts for API failures and degradation
  • Monitor response time, throughput, and error rates

Incident & Release Support

  • Participate in production deployments and validation
  • Perform post-release monitoring and smoke testing
  • Document runbooks and troubleshooting procedures
  • Support change management and incident resolution

Required Skills

  • Strong Java Production Support experience
  • API monitoring and troubleshooting experience
  • REST API and microservices support
  • Dynatrace monitoring experience
  • Splunk log analysis experience
  • Incident management / on-call support
  • Log analysis and debugging skills
  • SQL for production troubleshooting
  • Linux/Unix commands
