Job Description

Are you passionate about designing and developing application solutions that empower business users and drive operational excellence? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.

As our new IT Application Specialist, you will be participating in application design, development, integration, and consultancy - delivering custom solutions across data platforms, reporting tools, and enterprise systems to support the Peerless business.

You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

This position follows a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote) and will be based out of our Indianapolis, IN office.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Business Solutions team, you'll create impact by developing and supporting critical business applications, data integrations, and analytics solutions that enable smarter decisions and more efficient operations across the organization.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Develop, maintain, and support data integration, ETL, reporting, and analytics solutions using tools such as BODS, SAP DataSphere, Snowflake, and SQL.
  • Build and support custom applications, scripts, automations, and integrations using C#/.NET, SQL, Python, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
  • Deliver application consultancy and act as a sparring partner toward stakeholders, advising on functionality, process improvements, and solution design.
  • Ensure application security, stability, and continuous enhancement of features that benefit users and the business.
  • Manage work items, source control, builds, deployments, and release documentation using Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Train program users to become more self-sufficient and create supporting work instructions and documentation.

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a technically versatile problem solver with strong SQL and data integration skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work autonomously across enterprise applications, analytics, and custom development. We would also imagine that you have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent work experience, with ideally 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated capability with SQL scripting, views, stored procedures, functions, and data troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP tables, data structures, transactions, and business processes.
  • Proficiency with Office suite, ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills including technical vocabulary

It is a plus if you also have:
  • Experience with data integration/ETL tools such as BODS, SAP DataSphere, or Snowflake, and data platform concepts.
  • Exposure to application development using C#/.NET or Python, and familiarity with Azure DevOps, source control, and CI/CD practices.
  • General knowledge of networking concepts, firewall considerations, server interactions, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

Why you will love working here

We care! Day to day, you can look forward to:
  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering in your community.
  • Access to on-demand training and learning sessions and carefully structured programmes to pursue personal and professional development opportunities.
