Job Overview

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer III to join a cross-functional engineering team responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions for complex, distributed, and real-time systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product management, software development, hardware engineering, and operations teams to define, validate, and automate quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality engineering, automation, continuous improvement, and building scalable test frameworks in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of system architecture, dependencies, and operational constraints to create risk-based test strategies and automation coverage.
  • Partner with product managers and engineering teams to gather, refine, and document functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring measurable acceptance criteria and automated validation.
  • Own the end-to-end quality strategy, including functional, integration, performance, security, reliability, and failover testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and system testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using containerized environments and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Drive a Shift-Left testing culture by embedding quality practices early in the development lifecycle, managing test data, and maintaining reliable regression suites.
  • Execute manual exploratory and edge-case testing while continuously increasing automation coverage.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics such as test coverage, defect trends, defect escape rate, and MTTR to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead root cause analysis and blameless postmortems, converting findings into preventive automated tests and process improvements.
  • Support deployment validation, configuration testing, compatibility verification, and production readiness activities.
  • Mentor QA engineers, promote automation best practices, coding standards, and evaluate new testing tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to continuously improve software quality processes.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in software and systems testing, including 4+ years focused on test automation.
  • Experience taking products from requirements through production deployment and operational support.
  • Proven experience defining comprehensive test strategies for complex, distributed, or real-time systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or C# for automation.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, gRPC, and UI automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor team members and influence engineering best practices.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience testing event-driven microservices and REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, network protocols, distributed systems, and application debugging.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
