Position: Senior Agricultural Service Technician
Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania
Job Overview: The Senior Agricultural Service Technician will independently perform advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer-owned and dealer-owned agricultural and/or turf equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, professionalism, and the ability to work both in the shop and in the field as needed. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean work environment while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities: - Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural, compact construction, and turf equipment, including Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
- Participate in service training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Ensure vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment are in good condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
- Complete all required reports, forms, and tasks, including researching and requesting parts.
- Account for all time and materials used in assigned duties according to dealership processes.
- Communicate professionally with manufacturers, team members, and customers as needed.
- Maintain a labor performance rate of 90% or above.
- Perform field diagnostics and repairs as required.
- Provide delivery services when necessary.
- Conduct or support customer clinics as needed.
- Perform other related business duties as assigned by supervisors or leadership.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience performing service repairs.
- Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in agricultural, compact construction, and turf equipment repair.
- Provide personal tools needed to perform job duties (specialty tools provided by the dealership).
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Valid, insurable driver's license required.
- Must possess or obtain a valid medical DOT card within two weeks of employment.
Working Conditions: - Ability to work extended or flexible hours, including some scheduled Saturdays.
Pay Range: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
