Infrastructure Manager | Hands-On Technical Leader

A highly stable, growth-oriented Cincinnati organization is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Manager to step into a critical leadership role as part of a planned transition. This is not a purely strategic position. This is for a technical leader who still enjoys rolling up their sleeves.
You will inherit a capable, tenured team and take full ownership of a complex enterprise infrastructure environment spanning VMware, Windows Server, VDI, NetApp & Hitachi storage, networking, and core business systems. Your voice will carry weight. Your technical expertise will shape direction. Your impact will be visible across the business.

What You Will Own:
- Lead day-to-day infrastructure operations while ensuring projects meet timelines and expectations
- Serve as the technical escalation point and hands-on contributor across servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and core systems
- Guide and mentor a team of four specialists across systems, network, telecom, and iSeries
- Design and implement IT processes, standards, and best practices
- Drive infrastructure architecture decisions, integrations, and performance optimization
- Oversee business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing
- Manage infrastructure procurement and vendor relationships
- Conduct performance reviews and support team development
- Maintain documentation standards and ensure operational accuracy
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies
Core Technical Requirements:
- 5+ years of combined technical and leadership experience
- Strong background in Microsoft Windows Server environments
- 3+ years of VMware vSphere administration
- Experience with VMware Horizon VDI
- Storage area network experience
- IIS administration experience
- Microsoft Exchange administration
- Experience working within ITIL-based service environments
- Proven success leading a technical infrastructure or support team
- Comfortable participating in on-call and pager rotation
Preferred Experience:
- F5 Big IP administration
- NetApp or Hitachi SANs
- Azure, Office 365, Entra ID
- DNS, LAN networking, Zabbix
- Genesys Cloud, Omnissa Horizon, MS Teams Calling
- PowerShell scripting
- Experience supporting a mixed Windows and Linux environment
- Data center operations background

Role Structure:
- Reports to the Director of Infrastructure
- Leads a team of four: iSeries Admin, System Admin, Network Engineer, Telecom Manager
- Hands-on leadership position
- Early schedule preferred: 7 AM to 4 PM EST
- Fully onsite in Cincinnati
