Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Red Hat Architect to support a large Fortune 500 enterprise initiative focused on Advanced SDN, tenant isolation (UDN/cUDN), and Nested OpenShift environments (OCP on VMaaS).
This role requires a true subject matter expert who can operate independently, provide advanced architectural guidance, and resolve complex infrastructure challenges without oversight. This is not a general support role — we are looking for a domain expert.
Key Responsibilities
· Advanced SDN & Tenant Isolation (UDN/cUDN)
· Architect and implement Layer 3 segmentation using OVN-Kubernetes
· Design and manage User Defined Networks (UDN) supporting overlapping RFC1918 IP space
· Implement secure multi-tenant isolation (logical/cryptographic segmentation)
· Configure and manage FRR-K8s Operator for dynamic BGP route advertisement
· Integrate Kubernetes networking with Leaf/Spine EVPN/VXLAN fabrics
· Design and implement advanced BGP policies (multi-hop, prefix filtering, route maps, communities, MED, graceful restart)
· Optimize SR-IOV and DPDK configurations for high-performance edge workloads
· Tune CNI configurations for low-latency, high-throughput environments
Required Qualifications
· Deep, production-level expertise in OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt)
· Advanced knowledge of OVN-Kubernetes internals (NB/SB DB, routing pipelines, ACLs, distributed routing)
· Hands-on implementation of UDN or multi-network Kubernetes overlays
· Strong experience with FRR-K8s and BGP fabric integration
· Experience with SR-IOV, DPDK, and high-performance Kubernetes networking
· Experience running nested OpenShift clusters
· Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex multi-layer virtualization issues independently
