Overview

We’re looking for a senior Oracle engineer with deep Oracle Exadata expertise and strong Oracle database administration + client/application-side connectivity experience. This role supports large-scale migrations to Exadata and ongoing production operations in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Oracle Exadata migrations and production operations, including architecture, performance, and HA/DR considerations.
• Perform Oracle DBA responsibilities across Oracle 11g/12c/19c+ environments, including:
  • RAC, ASM, Data Guard
  • Patching, backup/recovery, performance tuning
• Plan and execute migrations from VM-based/traditional platforms to Exadata:
  • Cutover planning, validation, and post-migration support
• Partner with application teams to validate and troubleshoot connectivity and performance, including:
  • JDBC, ODP.NET, OCI clients
  • TNS, DNS-based redirection, connection string behavior
• Coordinate with DBA, infrastructure, and application stakeholders during:
  • Pre-migration prep, migration events, and post-cutover stabilization
• Support production change activity (change management, outage coordination, escalations).
• Contribute to monitoring/validation efforts (performance baselines, post-migration checks, logging/monitoring review).

Required Skills / Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle database experience (administration + migration + production support).
• Strong Exadata experience (on-prem and/or OCI / Database@Azure), including:
  • Architecture, performance characteristics, HA/DR concepts, operational support
• Strong Oracle DBA skills (19c+ preferred): RAC, ASM, Data Guard, patching, backup/recovery, tuning.
• Proven experience migrating databases to Exadata, including production cutovers and validation.
• Strong application/client-side Oracle connectivity knowledge:
  • JDBC, ODP.NET, OCI clients, TNS, DNS redirection, connection strings
• Ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure and application teams; strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT (or equivalent combination of education + experience).

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting enterprise platforms that rely on Oracle databases (e.g., BPM/workflow, portals, middleware).
