Job Title: Sr. Business Analyst – MDM/Data
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite Mon–Thurs, Downtown – Capital St.)

 

Role Overview:
Our Enterprise Data team is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to capture and groom complex business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and support MDM and data initiatives. You’ll partner with Data Engineering, Enterprise Data Architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure data pipelines, reporting, and master datasets meet operational and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead requirements gathering and grooming to drive design and development
• Translate business processes into clear technical requirements and user stories
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs (frequency, real-time vs batch, APIs)
• Support MDM initiatives including master data creation and maintenance
• Analyze and validate data using SQL, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or business misalignments
• Work with reporting teams (e.g., Power BI) to address gaps or issues
• Understand and anticipate common data pitfalls (nulls, dates, etc.)

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• 7–10+ years in enterprise IT, data-focused, or MDM BA roles
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills
• Experience translating business needs to technical requirements
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities

Preferred / Environment Experience:

• Exposure to Snowflake, AWS, dbt, MuleSoft
• Familiarity with MDM, ETL/ELT, batch or streaming data flows
• Experience in operations, collections, or logistics-related data
